Description

During the 1970s, The Incredible Hulk was arguably the most powerful character in the Marvel Comic Universe! When I approached John Watson about an era specific piece where the Hulk would be fighting the Avengers he readily agreed to create this masterpiece. As you can see, the Hulk has already defeated The Mighty Thor, the Invincible Iron Man, Captain America, The Wasp, and Hawkeye. The Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Quick Silver are the next heroes to attempt to conquer the savage creature that Bruce Banner had become! With the battle happening in NYC, we also find the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man swinging into action for an Avengers guest appearance! Question is, will the Hulk defeat the remaining heroes?!

The action takes place in NYC at W. 34th Street. Background is inspired by an actual picture at that location from the 1970s.

People tend to forget the Hulk's popularity as well! The modern world was becoming more complicated and stressful with people reaching a boiling point. They could all relate to being the little guy wanting to be the big green guy as seen by the ratings and longevity of the TV show. Very colorful battle to depict with so much realism! Watson paints this with dramatic urgency as the big 3 have fallen!
