Description

This is a statement about what kind of pop culture influences Jaime had and the editorial freedom he and the brothers had to show this...It's one of those things that makes this hands down the most original and important on going artistic comic series ever. It isn't the image a Love and Rockets fan expected to see. Instead it's a lesson in taste and an eye opener for the fan. Plus it's a fabulous portrait of a great actor. No one will ever forget his role as the mob boss of the longshoremen in On The Waterfront.

What's old is new again. Why a portrait of this actor? For his acting or was it that he was called before House Un-American Activities Committee in 1953? The fight against censorship is still going on to this day with a mouse laying some legal haymakers on meatball politicians. How long before some guy in Florida hosting a website full of "controversial" comic artwork, gets in trouble? Think of the children. These portraits, whether they be of real people or Jaime's own creations, are meticulously done in full brush ink. You can see every hair done with inks dried on top that are nail polish thick.
