DescriptionThis piece features three character designs created by writer Peter Milligan and drawn by Michael Allred leading into their 2001 X-Force run, which started at issue 116 and introduced 2 new characters in issue #116 and and one in #117. Meet Gin Genie, Coach, and Vivsector (Myles Alfred)! In 2001 Joe Quesada came in and shook things up a bit at Marvel by bringing in fresh, indie talent to breath new life into Marvel. This was a new approach for Marvel which allowed for an all new team with wild designs and the wonderful flavor that Allred brought. It's been great to see these character pop up over the years and even cooler to see Marvel's March 2023 relaunch of the team in X-Cellent! Allred also did the X-Force logo on a separate board and it was ultimately rejected and later published in the Omnibus. Big thanks to Simon M for finding these pieces from Allred. The Kayfabe crew also did a really great dive into this series recently: Social/Sharing |

A great fit for your collections! Congrats!
Thanks my friend! I was excited that my first Allred art could be some design pieces from a great 2001 run.

He only did an Untold Tales of Spider-Man annual in '96 for Marvel before this, so for X-Force he was able to design new characters that really leaned into the Madman art style. What Milligan and he did were ahead of its time skewering celebrity culture!

Not only is it cool character design art to fit that theme in your collection, but it's doubly sweet that they're from a series you read and enjoyed!

Not sure if there was ever more of a depature for a title than what came before it than with this X-Force run! It was wacky, fun, visually unique, and threw us all for a loop in the best way! So cool you got design pieces from it. Congrats!
