I was fortunate enough to pick up a set of designs by Esad Ribic, which are my first pieces from Ribic.

At the time I didn't know what the project was for but I love design art. I was thrilled to find out these costume designs were done for Jonathan Hickman and Ribic's four issue Aliens vs Avengers miniseries! The first issue hit comic shops August 28, 2024 and it's been a wild horror/thriller style story so far.

They ended up going in a totally different direction for Miles-Alien suit but it's cool to see this initial concept with the Xenomorph shaped head.

The more mature look of Captain Marvel gives her an even more commanding prescence that has more to do with experience than powerset. Esad took the story to heart and made the characters fit first before adding any more elements.

You know I have to say, seeing both of these pencilled pieces really has me jonesing to see a story pencilled, but not painted, by Ribic! But only so long as he could either ink himself or have an inker who would faithfully stick to Ribic's lines.
