Description

Mitchell Hundred, who can control machines with his mind, finds himself distracted from his mayoral responsibilities when he is called for jury duty. But even that is interrupted by a schizophrenic fellow juror who thinks Hundred can fix his broken brain. On this page, the lunatic, a Gulf War veteran, holds scissors to the throat of an elderly woman while Hundred attempts to defuse the situation.

The first panel is a large establishing shot of the courthouse exterior; decompressed storytelling has such luxuries. The second panel takes the below-the-table perspective of the terrorized woman kneeling on the floor, while the third panel uses a dutch angle to convey the lunatic's unbalanced psyche. Panel gutters are all black throughout the series. Green word balloons on the published page signify that Hundred is attempting to use his powers of machine command, in this case to no avail on a human subject.
