I can't get over the saturation on those colors. This has to be mind altering in person.

Wonderful pop art piece! Ross paints this with color saturation to resemble layers of color separation in the printing process.

i have studied alex ross' work in comics for a long time. i found that he really started challenging himslef with negative images and more difficult ways of rendering... i assume to challenge himself and keep from feeling bored. i love when he does stuff like this. its simple. but done so effectively and striing but not complicated to achieve in terms of painting.
