I appreciate that, at the same time, he paid homage to such a memorable work by the master and he reinterpreted it in his own way. I especially like how he emphasised her face/gaze and that he painted a cat in place of a leopard 😺

I've always thought it was pointless to recreate a Frazetta. They'll forever be pale imitations. A reinterpretation showcaseing a similar color palette and level of skill, now that's interesting! Wonderful piece!

Just like in the original, the big stiff smooth marble column behind her creates a nice springboard for the Queen's figure to pop out against. It is done to greater effect with the tigher framing and the closer intimate nature of this piece.

AWESOME piece, Steve! A daunting recreation to take on (to say the least), but the palette and lighting -feel- right, and the fact that she's pointing down to a kitty cat had me laughing out loud. Puppeteer certainly strikes the right tone here; respectful homage without slavish adherence, because one allows for artistic interpretation while the other only leads to measurement against an impossible yardstick... A really unique piece, Steve (which is not something one can usually say about a Frazetta recreation)! Fantastic pick up!
