Description

While this series truly caught fire once Gail Simone took over, the earlier Dixon/Guice issues were a lot of fun too. In a continuation of Oracles introduction in Suicide Squad, she and Black Canary didn't meet in person until more than two years into the book. This end page comes from the issue that featured that meeting.

Credits read Jackson Guice but I know he goes exclusively by Butch Guice these days. Given the minimal use of super suits in the early years of this book, Guice got to show off a lot of his more realistic style. He excelled at street clothes action - as is apparent from that first panel. He also did a great job handling the acting needed in a series like this.

I bought this piece from l1231's store on eBay.

Them hanging out is the highlight of the issue as it was long awaited for Dinah to remember working with her as Batgirl. Guice's art seemed more dynamic than required. Like in this page's first panel where both are still on edge. The beauty shot at the end is his best inking job on the page.
