Description

X-Men #107 was the first issue of the series I ever bought off the stands and so I asked Dave Cockrum back in 2001 to do this large X-Men vs. the Imperial Guard commission based on that issue. Dave did everything including the coloring while I had Chris Claremont also sign the art in the lower left-hand corner when I saw him at one of our local comic shows a few years ago.

Wild! Almost all the characters and costumes were designed by Cockrum so he knew all the color choices and where to place them to create a pleasing composition.

This is an amazing X-Men piece. Cockrum's love for the characters is clearly evident. The colors are incredibly well done.

I was lucky enough to be the temporary caretaker of this piece for over a decade. It's still the best Cockrum commission I've ever seen!
