Description

The very first comic artwork that I ever bought (off Ebay in 2001), so this is somewhat special to me�loved these funny stories as a kid�

The complete script (11 script pages for a 13-page story) for the very first Mickey and the Sleuth story from 1975, �The Case of the Pea Soup Burglaries� (S75164). Cal Howard (see the �Cal� at the top of the first page) did the initial script which then received some strong rewriting by Carson Van Osten (see the �Carsten� at the top of the first page). Always interesting to see these as one gets a glimpse into the developmental process�it seems an initial title was �Sherlock and Mickey� (possibly dropped due to legal issues with the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle estate?) and looking at the underlying art (against the light) one can even see that Mickey was initially not in the story, but that the Watson-type character had a rather bulldogish face�
