Description

If you haven't read Ultimate Spidey, you need to. The incredible run (111 consecutive issues?) that Bendis & Bagley had on it is beyond impressive. Was it perfect? No way, but the consistency of the artist and writer is something special.

Unfortunately, all the USM Bagley covers (that I've seen) are pencils and were airbrushed(?)/colored and look somewhat horrible how they were published. (Outside of a few that were, even worse, inked after publication). I've had trouble capturing an accurate look of how pencils look in hand. Scans, pics, etc don't do them justice. This is an iPhone scan, if anyone has better ideas let me know.

Oh yeah! Those first 20 or so Ultimate Spidey covers are seared into my brain, and this one's up there! Perfect Spidey pose and the upward perspective choice was the RIGHT one. Congrats, Anthony!

An all-time classic! Weaving grace, strength, and dexterity together like some fluid radioactive ballet (the name of my next band, I'm thinking), Mark Bagley was the perfect choice for this fantastic series, offering a fresh, new, and exciting take on Spidey to (what turned out to be) generations that followed. Fantastic score, Anthony! Congrats!
