Description

Aquaman! Swift and powerful monarch of the oceans with his ability to summon and command all the creatures of the deep! Aquaman! Who, with his teenaged ally, Aqualad, guards and defends all that lives in the seas against the forces of evil! Aquaman, king of the seven seas!

Aquaman gets a bad rap. Jokes about perceived feeble powers and abilities have become all too common. I like Aquaman. There I said it. It all started with those cool Filmation cartoons. The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, Aquaman was the lead. Not a member of a team. The lead. Filmation had Aquaman talking to fish, riding a giant seahorse and throwing "water balls". All pretty cool to me as a kid.

I wanted a commission of Aquaman that brought back the feel of those Filmation cartoons. Of course, it had to have Aqualad and a seahorse. Val Semeiks, who has become my go to guy on commissions, accepted the challenge. He delivered exactly the piece I wanted, a couple of superheroes having a fun time.

Val Semeiks is a fantastic artist and a true professional when it comes to commissions. He doesn't mess around. He keeps you involved every step of the way. The best, easiest, fastest and smoothest commission experience I've ever had. No joke. The price is great too. If you're thinking about getting a commission, he's the guy.

Very regal and heroic with his pose and trident! This piece looks ready to take over and become the definitive image of Aquaman's Who's Who entry. He hasn't looked this grand in a while.

I always liked Aquaman. I mean, why WOULDN'T you like him if you grew up watching him in the cartoons? He has control of all sea mammals, what could be cooler? I have to admit though, those scenes of him casually riding the sea horse were lame! Nice job by Semeiks, especially including a part of the undersea kingdom at the bottom!

Wow, Val Semeiks definitely sounds like THE guy for commissions. It's so great to have such a positive experience with an artist when you hear so many horror stories. And this is a super fun, beautifully drawn image. Makes you want to pal around with those two, especially if you get to ride a seahorse! Well done sir!!

Aquaman is great. Anyone who says otherwise needs to read the Peter David series. That was an excellent book, and this is an excellent piece!
