Description

Last year at the Lake Como Comic Art Festival, I commissioned Iban Coello to create an X-Men #1 homage for me. I received said commission a couple months ago (I'm only just getting around to posting it now) and was shocked by the awesome quality of the piece! Iceman, Cyclops, and Wolverine vs. Magneto...what's not to love?!

It's like two covers out of the Jim Lee #1 and Iban Coello worked it to feel very complete on its own! The main players of Wolverine and Magneto get their due spotlight! It is powered by the opposing forces fueled by anger shown in their faces and the splatter effects!

So you were the one who commissioned this! I saw this posted and thought it was just a pinup that Iban did. Love the frenetic energy he has in his art, and this is a great homage to the X-Men #1 cover. Congrats!

Oh man, that came out great! Love the tones, and the energy AND depth of the X members on the left. A nice homage and killer piece of art in its own right. Congrats!
