Description

This page features Scrooge, Donald, the nephews, the villain Soapy Slick, and last but not least Barko the heroic dog.

The page is one of the approximate 200 survivors from the destruction orgy of the 6000+ pages Barks wrote, pencilled and inked. It was given to Barks when he retired in 1966.

A survivor and a great quality page. I dismissed Barks and other artists in this genre. The quality of the expressions and panel layout is phenomenal. Great acquisition.

Thank you for sharing this fantastic page. Barks was a genius and one of the best comic storytellers of all time. Clearly no one knows this better than you! Congratulations on having such a wonderful Barks duck page in your collection

His cartooning is so expressive, especially in panel 4. The boys are so tired that they appear to be melting. I like how he uses shadows to ground the figures and give them weight. The composition of the overall page is balanced and graceful, with the top and lower tiers mirroring each other. Wonderful craft on display in this page. Congratulations!

This page although recent, is a masterpiece that shows all the narrative and artistic potential of Barks !!!
