Sorry to hear about that, it sounds pretty bad. We had a terrible experience with that particilar dealer ourselves...I've never contacted PayPal to reverse a transaction before, but made anwxceopton for them. They heard the story and immediately gave us the refund...

The whole ordeal (as well as a few other recent disasters) has practically turned us off collecting art...

it's a shame, because you have a cool of great Al Columbia pieces which have probably been soured for you...

Thank you for the comments.   It was very disappointing.   I had issues with Al before this.   I used to buy works directly from him and spent a considerable amount on those works.  The pieces I've listed here are the tip of the iceberg.   I have numerious other pieces that I purchased from him.    He always took a long while to deliver the pieces.  But the last time, he kept my money for over a year and a half and kept delaying the delivery of the painting.   After all that time, he reneged on the deal and told me he's changed his mind about selling the piece.   And even after that, it took another few months for him to refund the funds he held for over 18 months.  But I still purchased his work from others, because I loved his work so much.  This was the final straw.    He's just not a good person.   Seems like everyone who works with him, eventually has a falling out.   I don't know the dealer, but she claimed she was unaware this was a replica.    However, after I made her aware, she didn't take down the piece or mention anything in the listing.   So as far as I'm concerned, she was complicit.  I'm sorry you had issues with her.   I'm glad you got refunded.    Comic art collecting can be so rewarding, both financially and personally.    Don't let some bad eggs ruin it for you.   I hope you continue to enjoy this hobby.
