Opening Page from Youngblood Volume 2, #6
Pencils in the issue are credited to Roger Cruz, Manny Clark, and Todd Nauck; the page is signed by Laguna, who, even though uncredited, is likely the page's artist.
It was not uncommon for early Image books to be worked on by whomever was available.

I would imagine that the Image studios would work that way to give the quieter pages to the new guys to see what they can do to make them more exciting. This page one establishing space scene may be routine for the veteran artist, but might have meant the world as Laguna's shot to shine and he makes the most of it as if it was the most important page of the book.
