The montage is incredible. The shirt and chair pattern line work is intoxicating. The whole page reminds me of the 60's from Bond, to Our Man Flint or Gary Seven from the Star Trek episode "Assignment Earth". From the top of the cover to the bottom your eye is directed or from left to right in the diagonal designs. The skulls as used to maximum effect. The prelim to me has more impact than the painted cover. Top notch acquisition. Congrats!

Great paperback novel cover composition! The line art and the shades of tones of contrast and negative space are very stylish illustration techniques by Scalera. It combines the look of mystery and magic fantasy and the looseness of the prelim actually helps to bring energy to the look.
