DescriptionThis is a page from Infinity, Inc. #13, page 10 from the story, "A Thorn Grows In Paradise." This was penciled by the great Don Newton and inked by Joe Rubinstein.Of all my Newton pages, this one is by far the most special. I was visiting Don in Phoenix during one of my trips out there, and by this time, he was in bad health. While there, I snapped a few pictures of him working at his drawing table, and this was the page that he was working on. After he passed, I was looking back at the photos of my last visit and realized that I had captured him working on a very specific page. I reached out to the family, and they were able to find this page among his artwork, send it to me, and I now have it. That is why this page is so special. Certainly some my other Newton pieces are more dynamic and have more recognizable characters than this one, but this one is still the most special as it was the last piece of art that I ever saw him draw. I couldn't see myself ever parting with it for any reason. It is truly one of the most special pieces that I have in my collection. Don was a great artist, a fine person, and a good friend. We lost a great artist the day he died. He had a way of drawing characters that really made them come alive on the page. Social/Sharing |

Newton uses the golden age charm and does all these details with extra care knowing the baxter paper quality would capture his art like never before.
