11-3/8x17 Sparta artboard has pen and ink original art for cover to Action Comics #568, published by DC Comics in June 1985. Art is by Howard Bender (who only worked on 12 issues of Action Comics) w/inks by Jerry Ordway and features romance-themed design of Superman embracing/kissing Nova-Woman w/heart designs showing smaller scenes of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen w/their respective dates. This ties into Jimmy Olsen backup story The Amazing Matchmaker Of Metropolis! Artboard has "Superman Starring In Action Comics" title stat pasteover as well as DC publisher logo and issue indicia stat pasteovers. Missing "It's Romance" stat strip from heart w/title text. Some scattered glue staining at this area. Top margin has inked title, issue number and publication info on provided lines, while margins have some scattered inking and two strips of tape at lower left w/inked measurements. Howard Bender has signed in black felt tip pen at bottom left margin (beside small self-portrait caricature). Back has DC Comics copyright inkstamp. Artboard has scattered handling wear w/corner tips off and some scattered dust soiling. Upper left margin has some staple holes and .5" tear. Staple hole at top left corner. Heavy diagonal crease across bottom, traversing Jimmy Olsen image w/smaller crease at right, crossing Lois Lane image. Fine overall.
