Description

Paperino Don Chisciotte � una storia a fumetti scritta da Guido Martina e disegnata da Pier Lorenzo De Vita, pubblicata in Italia sui numeri 137, 138 e 139 di Topolino, tra il 25 aprile e il 10 maggio 1956.

La storia � una parodia ( la seconda in ordine cronologico delle Grandi Parodie Disney ) del romanzo Don Chisciotte di Miguel de Cervantes.
Martina come sua abitudine negli anni cinquanta, ambienta la parodia non nel periodo storico dell�opera originale ( in questo caso il XVI secolo ), bens� in epoca contemporanea. Particolarit� della storia � che partecipano alla vicenda, entrambi i personaggi dell�universo disneyano dei paperi e dei topi: ad esempio Paperino assume l�identit� di cavaliere errante e si ritrova a vivere tutte le avventure di Don Chisciotte, mentre Pippo si presta ad interpretare il ruolo del fidato scudiero Sancho Panza.

Nella tavola pubblicata, assistiamo all�incontro di Paperino e Pippo con il "Commendatore", un astuto vagabondo che, sotto i loro occhi, riesce a rubare il denaro e la bicicletta di Pippo, facendo loro credere che ci� che vedono sia un'illusione, prodotta da un albero magico (qui Martina si ispira non a Cervantes ma ad una novella di Boccaccio).

The coloring in the published page does no justice to the finer parts of the ink lines seen here. Nice pairing of Goofy and Donald as each of them play off each other's personality that De Vita conveys very well.

Really beautiful page of one of the best stories of P.L. de Vita. Especially as far as the original pages are concerned, this story is something special. Congratulations.
