Description

First on my list at FACTS Fall Edition 2023 (Saturday 21st of October) was Jim Mahfood, whose style & work I adore. I had reached out a few months ago for a pre-show commission, but this close to NYCC, that was impossible.

He did say he would be doing some things at the show. With some other pieces by Mark Buckingham & Mike Perkins having been set up before the event, I knew Jim would be my main goal of the day. To my surprise, I was first at his table & we chatted - about his earlier work, style, appreciation & some sightseeing for him to do in Brussels.

While having that chat, Jim did some doodles in every single one of my books. Whether they were his art books, omnibuses or regular trades, he drew something small in all of them & appreciated my appreciation for his work. The commission I'll post soon!
