Description

I do love Matt Clark's wonderful dry-brush ink illustrations, but I'm equally enamored of his preliminary work. I love the movement and action in a piece like this. I mean, check out the figural attitudes at play. All of those figures crammed into the space and he still makes it all work. Wonderful stuff.

Look pretty good already in black, white, and red as the wild west saloon deserves the rougher line in contrast to the lady.

I love the gestural lines! It's a shame that all the people who are enamored with Raymond's Flash Gordon aren't aware that the style employed on those Sundays wasn't original and unique to Raymond and that much of it is owed to Matt Clark. Either way, wonderful stuff!
