Description

Another visitor at FACTS Fall Edition in October 2023 was British DC exclusive artist Trevor Hairsine. I have to admit that aside from something here and there from 2000 AD, I have not picked up too much of his work. I heard good things about "DCeased" with Tom Taylor, though.

That's why I hadn't planned a pre-show piece or even something at the show. I was aware of his usual prices & that kind of kept me from looking into it any further. However, at the show, he had a very affordable option. So, hey, I shot my shot.

In the 60 minutes before his panel, he created this Batman from scratch. With some pencils, inks & a very nice ballpoint pen he had found recently. That's how he did all that crosshatching. Watching him do that was like ASMR. The end result speaks for itself: a great and extremely well balanced out show commission.

Additionally, Trevor is such a nice & funny person. When we took our picture together - and I was pointing at him - he jokingly said that he thought I was going to hit him. So we posed like that afterwards. Truth be told, he's in incredible shape, too, so I'd suggest not picking a fight with the man.

Size is A4 & done in pencils & inks mainly.

Phenominal! The rain defintiely adds a dramatic weight to Batman and attacks like it's stabbing him.

Trevor outdid himself - it was great seeing him work on that effect with his ruler!

It's 100% the piece I did not expect to pick up, but very happy I did! For me, the Mahfood commission is a tad bit more meaningful. But you haven't seen that one yet! ;)
