DescriptionFantastic Four #116 page 32 - November 1971. Fantastic 2/3 splash with pencils by the great John Buscema and inks by Joe Sinnott, who happens to be one of the best inkers that Marvel ever employed! There are so many things that I love about this issue and this page.First, as a teenager I bought this off the stands and couldn't wait to read how they concluded the saga of the Overmind. Second, aside from the Silver Surfer/Galactus trilogy and the Inhumans saga (FF45-FF47) this has always been one of the best Fantastic Four storylines ever for me. Third, I just loved those Marvel 25 cent issues that they experimented with for a month or two! And finally, if Jack Kirby couldn't be there to draw this, you would be hard pressed to find a better duo than John Buscema and Joe Sinnott, their talent and skill just shines through on this page as the Stranger exiles the Overmind to a microverse contained within a mote of dust, thus ending his attempt to conquer and destroy the Earth! Anyway, this page is a wonderful addition to my collection and incredibly nostalgic for me. Social/Sharing |

Glorious space Marvel of the 70's! With the Silver Surfer series under their belt, John Buscema and Joe Sinnott are the perfect pair to bring the spectacle to these powerful scenes.

Cosmic glory! The Overmind story was remarkably stellar. The FF seemed truly in danger of defeat. Congratulations!
