DescriptionAround the time when I switched over from my Dutch translations to the original versions, Bucky was running around as Captain America. Civil War, Siege, all those events left an impression on me. Especially the magnificent Brubaker run on Captain America.I was lucky to pick those up in omnibus format from another collector when I was 13-14 years old & never looked back. Like with Ben Reilly's stint as Spider-Man, and Bucky as Cap, I love the "off" versions of heroes with a chip on their shoulder. So, when I heard Mike Perkins was visiting FACTS in October 2023, I sent him a message a few months before. We spoke about my love for his work on the Cap run in Paris earlier this year, but a commission of Bucky as Cap would be a nice tribute. And would go nicely with the Steve version he did for me a few years ago. Regarding the commission, I love the urgency of it all. The running pose. The speed lines. And of course, all the nice detail & reflexion effects on the metallic suit & shield. Mike didn't skimp on the ink wash for the background, either. The piece was done with pencils, inks & ink wash. Size is 11x14 Social/Sharing |

Mike did some stunning pieces for that show! Fred's Swamp Thing does take the cake, though!

Yes! The lighting is so well done & was a great idea for those reflective surfaces.
