Description

For all my life, I've been obsessed with what we might call 'defunct futures,' particularly those of the 1930s. This gouache painting captures the streamline ethos of the period beautifully.

The work apparently was used by a paper box company for its 1937 calendar. Whoever did it was a top-flight illustrator, and I feel very lucky indeed to have it.
