Description

Growing up overseas I had very limited access to current titles, but a newsstand at a local hotel would carry some random titles. X-Factor started coming in after issue #50 and I decided to give it a shot, so the nostalgia 'factor' is quite strong here. I was very taken by Ship and its sentience, as well as the human interactions such as Scott proposing, Iceman dating and babysitting, and Archangel exploring his conflicting natures.

Fill-in artist Terry Shoemaker does a more than credible job, particularly with multiple storylines that are all over the place. Great work on the facial expressions and textures throughout.

In this particular sequence we get a very nice transformation, and a shot of Ship towering over the skyline. Bonus inclusion of Baby Cable and futuristic stroller/nanny.

It's true - restaurants close in NY all the time.

The NYC restaurant business is competitively brutal.  If Salt Bae's NYC restaurant can close, then nobody is safe.

Shoemaker did indeed do credible work on the book. Very solid stuff. Thanks for the description, I always love reading about other collectors' experiences, especially those that grew up overseas and didn't have full access to all comic books.

Oh, X-Factor outside is frightful
But the Mexico menudos
And now we've no place Opal
Let it close! Let it close! Let it close!

He doesn't show signs of stopping
And Ice brought this newborn for shopping
Delights are turned way her home
Let’s Soho! Let’s Soho! Let's Soho!

When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate coming out to the Storm
But if then Terry draws me tight
All the way home inks Milgrom

Nostalgia is slowly dying
And, my dear, there're still good buying
But if basement her pizza froze
All alone! Let it post! Let it post!

Nice 2 page sequence here, man.  I got into X-Factor with the Simonsons, but followed in spots after in the run.  Love Iceman because of the book as well as the Spidey & His Amazing Friends show.  Cool tranformation page, and always liked the look of the inhibitor belt :)  Congrats!

Simpler times for Bobby and Opal. Before she got kidnapped by a crime lord, met Bobby's racist dad, and then had her cybernetic ex blow his ass up to kill his fellow cybernetic crime goons.

Great 2-page sequence!  Love the conversation between Bobby and Opal.  And ooh, the last two panels introduces a shadowy, menacing figure.  Makes you want to read on for sure!

Awesome X-Factor page featuring Opal and Iceman.   I have a few fun pages of them on some dates.   Nice wintery wonderland pages.

I missed a Mikail mutant CAF post!  Oh no, that's unforgivable.  Especially with a nice spread like this!
