Description

"Mercy Mission" by Robert Kanigher.

Easy Company has just crossed the Remagen Bridge into Germany. Smoke signals that spell "chow is ready" above a destroyed German tank lures the company into a trap. A German machine gun opens up. A bullet clips Sgt. Rock's helmet. Four Eyes takes out the enemy soldier.

George Evans is known for his World War I aviation art in comics and illustration art. In addition to EC and DC war stories, he also drew two military aviation stories in Warren Publications's short-lived Blazing Combat, "Flying Tigers!" and "How It Began!" "Flying Tigers!" is noteworthy for his brush work and graytones.

I want to express my appreciation to Jay Austin for allowing me to add this piece to my World War II collection.

Uses that DPS layout that seems exclusive to the DC War titles! High stakes and high tension in these war books and ultimately providing lessons that war books are actually against war.
