DescriptionFrom the DEATHLOK NATION part 2 storyline (Uncanny X-Force #6) comes this Esad Ribic/John Lucas page.Completely X-cited to get my first Ribic page, featuring Psylocke nonetheless. And to top that from the UNCANNY X-FORCE 1st volume (2010) series, which had one of my all-time recent storylines (from Remender with art from Brooks, Opeña and Ribic) called DARK ANGEL SAGA, with this DEATHLOK NATION directly preceding it. I really love how Ribic handles Psylocke on his cover and his painted pieces are alway so eye catching. The story that Remender is dealing with at this point is the aftermath of Fantomex shooting and killing a child that would ultimately become Apocalypse. Psylocke is not sitting well with that decision and action, she is having a counseling session with her brother, Captain Britain (Brian Braddock) and we also get a little interaction with Angel in the lower panels. I really like how Ribic designs this panel page layout cinematically with the various cuts/panels. . . . Social/Sharing |

Really love the emotion on this page. Especially on the two bottom panels. You almost don't need the dialog to know there is something dramatic happening.

Emotive page with those expressions top to bottom. Ribic known for his color pin up-y stuff, and with good reason, but he's no slound on the black & white sequential storytelling front. And this is a great example. Congrats, James!

Really rare to see these early pieces where someone else inks Ribic. His art is usually seen soft and mythic, but it is sharp in line and emotionally here.

Congrats on your first Ribic. Uncanny xforce is one of my favorite runs in comics..apocalypse solution, deathlok nation, dark angel saga...all well done
