Description

Let me first start off by saying that this cover art is INCREDIBLE. Simone's Poison Ivy is beautifully drawn with fine lines and details that give her a softness. What really stands out in this piece is the overall, exquisite detail work with all of the background elements. Simone's use of negative space, shading contrast, ink wash and line work is a feast for the eyes. Studying all the different elements, the artistic choices and the execution of those choices is something one could spend hours on with this piece. The vines, blades of grass, mushrooms all give the background vegetation a life of it's own. Everything comes together so perfectly on this piece, like a symphony of art, it's perfection and I doubt I'll ever find another Di Meo cover that would top this one for me. Truly a lovely piece to study, so happy to have this one in my collection.
