Very happy to present this unique Daily strip, which stands out from the rest of Dan's production, directly related to Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon Sunday Comic Strip, dated 6-18-39, featuring a reminder of the scene from panel 3, which inspired George Lucas' Star Wars, and Princess Leia Organa's famous hairstyle!

A little gem from the history of the SciFi genre in 9th Art.

Old school storytelling with the only special effect of the screentone. As it ages, the discoloration somehow enriches it's authentic vintage feel even more. A glorious example as this came out during the filming of Star Wars making the connection even stronger.

Awesome Flash Gordon daily by Dan Barry! Interesting that it used elements from the Alex Raymond 1939 Flash Gordon Sunday (The coiled hairstyle & the giant Brukka) only 36 years later. Beautifully drawn, if not quite as exquisite as Alex Raymond's original. Still, Dan Barry brought a strong, competent version of Flash Gordon to a new generation. Great pick-up, congrats!
