UFO Robot Gattaiger - La grande battaglia dei dischi volanti (宇宙円盤大戦争?, Uchū enban daisensō) � un mediometraggio anime giapponese del 1975 diretto da Yōichi Kominato.

Uchu Enban Daisenso (宇宙円盤大戦争, Uchū Enban Daisensō, "Battlefield of The Space Saucers") is a 1975 Japanese animated short film created by Go Nagai and produced by Toei Doga. It was originally shown along with the short film Great Mazinger tai Getter Robot G: Kuchu Daigekitotsu, also from Toei and Nagai. The film is considered the prototype for the future anime television series UFO Robot Grendizer, which premiered the same year.

Uchū Enban Daisensō (宇宙円盤大戦争), noto anche come The Great Battle of the Flying Saucers, � un film d'animazione giapponese prodotto da Toei Animation e diretto da Tomoharu Katsumata. Uscito nel 1975, � un'opera importante perch� funge da precursore per la celebre serie UFO Robot Grendizer (conosciuto come Goldrake in Italia), creata da Go Nagai.

Il film racconta la storia di una battaglia intergalattica in cui il protagonista, Duke Fleed (poi ribattezzato Actarus nella serie Grendizer), lotta contro un malvagio impero alieno che minaccia la Terra. Pur non essendo tecnicamente parte della serie TV Grendizer, Uchū Enban Daisensō ha molti elementi che verranno ripresi e sviluppati nella serie televisiva, inclusa la figura dell'eroe e il tema della resistenza contro un'invasione aliena.

� un'opera pionieristica nel genere mecha e ha contribuito a popolarizzare questo stile di narrazione fantascientifica in Giappone e all'estero, soprattutto in Italia, dove Grendizer � diventato un'icona della cultura pop anni '70 e '80.

In questo rarissimo e interessante anime cel originale di formato cinematografico, si puo' vedere come appariva la prima versione molto diversa del robot Goldrake con le corna che divenne poi iconico, differente sia nella forma che nei colori.
