This is even before Vertigo was formed and this is one of the mature and sophisticated titles that warranted it. Heavy themes of heaven, hell, and the nitty gritty in between, Ennis pushed the buttons and operated out side comics code signalling how outdated it was. This is fine illustration by Simpson as a standalone page. While Constantine is the story, the guy asking the question is us right in the middle of the page. It ends with Ennis' wry humor of irony as Constantine will be fishing qaround the sewers soon enough to find one ofr those that have fallen in between heaven and hell.
