DescriptionA few weeks back, my pals Sonu and Colin both alerted me when this one popped up for sale here on CAF. So, I quickly reached out to the seller, Jean-Claude, to see if it was still available. To my good fortune, no one had claimed it yet and I was able to make it the 51st For All Seasons page to join my collection… and the first one I can recall purchasing from outside the U.S. It also happens to be a personal favorite from the book. Tim does a phenomenal job on both Lois and Clark’s expressions, and I particularly enjoy seeing how he played with the size of the characters in panel 2. Tim loved contrast, and that’s on full display in both their height difference as well as the exaggeration of how broad Clark’s shoulders are by comparison. What’s more, this one makes me smile because it’s three panels. After seeing Darwyn pull it off so masterfully in New Frontier, Tim would often remark how three panels to a page was his preferred style. So, it’s a lot of fun to see him lean into it here on a project that predated New Frontier by half a decade. 51 down, 141 more to go. If you have a page and would like to help me on my quest to reunite the whole book, please reach out to me. I would appreciate it. Social/Sharing |

Wouldn't think of Clark as a three piece suit guy. Just one more layer to peel off in the phone booth.

One. At. A. Time.
I've pretty much written off getting a Daily Planet page by Tim because of your quest. ;-)

Three panels pages work well if you got a comic strip styled point to make with a set up, a pause, and the payoff. Really nice design with the center panel as the establishing shot and having the vertical lines to squeeze in focus on the two together.

I would have been sorely tempted to get this one for myself had I seen it first. Glad you got it.
