DescriptionThis piece checks multiple boxes for me.I've been looking for a good published piece by Adi. I was on a hiatus from comics when Adi initially started doing marvel work. I remember first seeing his work on Xmen Second Coming (he did all covers) and being blown away with the cinematic feel. Xmen Second Coming is part of the Messiah Trilogy ( Messiah Complex, Messiah War, Second Coming). This cover is a good representation of this arc. Second Coming is the final act with a game of cat and mouse between Bastion (the hybrid of mastermind and nimrod) hunting Hope (the first mutant since House of M when Wanda whispered No more mutants)who is protected by Cable. Cyclops definitely shines as the leader fending off waves of Nimrods being sent from the future with Utopia being walled off in an impenetrable sphere. Wolverine plays a large role taking Xforce into the future shutting down mastermold, cutting off the waves of Nimrod. Then Cable makes a major sacrifice and Hope steps up at the end against Bastion. This is a fantastic cover piece and definitely hits well for a representative history piece full of great dramatic nostalgia. Huge congrats on this one!

Thanks, Second Coming has been one of my favorite xmen arcs and a fitting conclusion to the Trilogy. Adi definitely left his mark on the cover art for the arc.

Great piece. I really like Adi's distinctive style and it has only gotten better. This is an example of that. Great pick up!

Thanks Jared. While I'm also a big fan of Adi's painted work, he's definitely one of favorite pure pencilers too. I'm in awe what he can achieve with just pencils.

One of the best covers ever. Congrats!
Thank you. All of Adi's covers for the arc were amazing, but I do think this one captures the story of the arc well

Unreal pencil rendering, man, with many an X character getting the treatment! Must look that much better, and I do (vs some others in our hobby, lol) like seeing Cyke get some shine! Congrats!

Thanks and agreed K. Cyclops definitely shined as a leader in this arc defending Utopia on multiple fronts and making the tough call unleashing Xforce. Best believe when xmen 97 airs I'll be looking at this piece..."To me my Xmen!"

Thanks Jason. Your iron man piece by him is great. I remember you reaching out early on in CAF to set up that commission many years back.

I've been seeing nothing but painted pieces by Granov for so many years that it's refreshing to see a pencilled piece for a change. Really gorgeous work!

Thanks Ruben and agreed. While I also love his painted art, his pure pencil skills are some of the best I've seen

Insane pencils. That's the thought that keeps coming back to me when I look at this cover by Adi Granov. Insane pencils. I look at the detail that Adi has included on this cover and I don't know how he does it. His Cyclops is strong and vigilant. His Wolverine is fierce and determined. His Cable is capable and gutsy. And his Hope is brave and forceful. And it's all done with...Insane pencils. Unbelievable.
