José Luis Salinas (Buenos Aires 1908-1985). Historietista e ilustrador argentino, padre del también dibujante Alberto Salinas. De su primera etapa en Columba y Patoruzu destaca su serie humorística Ellos y sobretodo la realista Hernan el Corsario. Desde 1949 se dedica para King Features Syndicate a dibujar la serie Cisco Kid. A partir de los 70´s destacan sus portadas e ilustraciones, especialmente de animales y militares. Autor de gran reconocimiento internacional, recibió en 1976 el Yellow Kid.

Nice elegance to the line to portray a more civilized world than the westerns we know him for. The panels with the portrait and the dress are outstanding.

Yes! Salinas is famed for his work with King Features in Cisco Kid. "Ellos" is a earlier work, and I see some characteristics which remind me of Alex Raymond style.
