As we close in on Halloween, we gotta look at the thirteenth page from the thirteenth issue of the 2013 run, right? And OF COURSE it should feature everyone�s favorite ruler of the Limbo hell dimension - Magik.

This run of �Uncanny� brought with it many fun things, but what may very well end up being the most enduring is the redesign that Chris gave Illyana. It just -clicked-. She finally looked the part of a Hellish dimensional ruler -AND- a cute goth teen, and it�s a little crazy to think that it took Marvel so long to give her (and her big, honkin� soulsword!) the visual reboot folks were hungry for. Well, whatever the reason, it was worth the wait. Oh, ohhhhh.... it's Magik!

A fun page here spotlighting not only Illyana, but Future Jean Grey as well (up to some shenanigans). The stark, background-less panels really work to keep us dramatically focused on the faces, efforts, and intentions of the characters in conflict. The pure white behind (villain) Jean and pitch black behind (hero) Illyana also add a fun subliminal layer of conflict. (The raised pinky as she grips her Soulsword in the top panel is all kinds of hilarious, too.)

To say I�m over the moon to display this one would fall way, way short. Thank you, Alex!

Pages like this and her redesign just show how big an influence Kentaro Miura had on worldwide pop culture. Fun page.

I don't know if it's simply that I'm a traditionalist, but I've always been partial to her wearing the original X-Men costume from 1963. However, I will also admit that I DO also really enjoy this Bachalo costume as well, though I think the big, honkin' Souldsword really adds to it! Do you get strong Michael Golden vibes when looking at this, or is it just me? Either way, a really spectacular looking page and I mean that I love the bottom two tiers of panels at least as much as I like the half splash! Great addition to your collection, Jason!

Bachalo gave Illyana what most people (myself included) consider her best look. What a treat to have this badass example of it in all its glory! Congrats, man!

Issue 13 page 13 from 2013?!? That is pretty pitch perfect for this spookerific month. And yeah, Bachalo's portrayal of Majik is quite perfect too. Really sweet page, congrats!

Yup, love this design, like many of our other fellow collectors! Great shot featuring, and I love that middle bottom panel, too...that closed eye kind of contemplative expression against the all black background. Awesome stuff! Congrats, man!
