DescriptionAnd now for something I never thought would be possible! Lobo A Contract on Gawd (1994) #3 Painted Cover by Kieron Dwyer! Kieron has held on to these covers from day one, and now, 30 years later, I was able to buy this. Special thanks to Spencer Beck for allowing me to buy this when it became available.Dave, Gawd's brother and ruler of Paradize's underworld, tells Lobo that the Main Man must defeat Gawd if he ever hopes to leave. Dave's final plan to depose the supreme being of Paradize is set in motion when he contacts Abbot Costello to instigate a planetwide rebellion. Social/Sharing |

The additional weight and depth paintings give to the comic medium is thrilling. The rendering seems to fill more of the eye.
As a kid, I remember never getting bored of looking at H.J. Ward's painting of Superman on the oversized Treasury Edition published in the early 70s.
What a thrilling addition to your collection.

Beautifully painted, with some great Lobo-style fun. Like the roasted marshmallow on the tine of his pitchfork, and a big safety pin to attach his tail to his devil bikini briefs. And of course he's chomping on a cigar and lookin' pissed off. I love it! Congrats!

Who wants to play pin the tail on the Lobo? Awesome piece! Congrats Nick!

Great key series for Lobo that he would go after the big guy himself and define the character! It's a middle finger to the censorship types of its day and is stronger even today. Dwyer does it by flaunting Lobo in devil imagery with glee.

I never cared for Lobo, but if he had worn THIS outfit all along, THIS is something I could get behind! So cool to see that Dwyer was showing some painting chops back then. Very nice and funny!
