Description"Perro"November 1981 Una historia de HOMBRE. José Ortíz is a very important figure in the spanish comic art history. Belonging to "Escuela Valenciana" he became in to one of its most relevant representatives. His technique was exquisite, precise an clean. "Hombre" is one of his most iconic runs. A post-apocalyptic sci-fi series also influenced by westerns. "Hombre" takes place on Earth after a succession of wars, natural disasters and energy crises lead to the total collapse of civilised society. A sort of "The Last of US" but written 45 years before (without zoombies). The series were magistrally written by Antonio Segura. Art is signed. Titles are handly drawn. Social/Sharing |

Lots of all stars in the credits, but Ortiz shows why he's up high on that list. The center column of close ups leads the eye directly to the perro and they are all character defining images to set up the story.

You are true Marcos! A very great listing. Cimoc was a sort of 2000AD in Spain with different topics. Yes!!! The perro captures the eye of the reader!!! Thanks a lot as usual!

Not familiar with the book or art but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the art! Outstanding mix of a realistic look with a comic book one...sublime work. Congrats, man!

A gorgeous Ortiz page! The balance of figures in the panel-less area, with clever choices about how much background to include, is just fantastic.
