DescriptionTomine's work has endured - this page was created in 1998, a couple of issues into his Optic Nerve series after it was picked up by D&Q - he was 24. His work had transitioned from the more caricature(?)-ish style of his mini comics to the more realistic style seen through to his work today.Adrian Tomine Optic Nerve #5 Page 11 Original Art (Drawn & Quarterly, 1998). From the story "Alter Ego", disgruntled writer Martin Courtney shares a meal with his old high school crush and laments the weight of talent in this page later reprinted as Page 4 of the Drawn & Quarterly short story collection Summer Blonde. Don't fall in the trap of the friendzone! He should get in and out. With only 3 pages in this story, Rob shouldn't waste his time. Another slice of life about longing to reconcile lost opportunities of youth in this series by Tomine.
