The splash sells the story in this First Comics adaptation. While the color cover will bring in comic fans, this looks more like a book chapter illustration that ties itself to the Moorcock story itself.

Back in 'the day', I was not a fan of Rafael Kayanan, but I have to admit this is one beautiful page.

Gorgeous Title splash for Hawkmoon from First Comics! What a beautiful splash page from Rafael Kayanan. I love the composition with the three figures grouped together. The art has a real BWS feel to it, and the inks are superb. I don't know if I've seen pages from Hawkmoon on CAF before, but this one is outstanding. Rafael Kayanan did a terrific job on this sword and sorcery book. Great pick-up, congrats!
