DescriptionCerebus 20 Cover re-creation (Jan 2024)By Dave Sim (1956- ) 11 x 17 in., ink on board Four of the pages from issue 20 are posted at CAF (other people, not me), but I have the prelim color sketch for the cover (included as an additional image, and also an image of the cover, FYI), so I was motivated to grab this 2024 re-creation. It's a nice snapshot on how the look of the character evolved in 20 issues (I have the original "style sheet" for Cerebus, and it's also posted in the additional images, just for fun comparison) Social/Sharing |

Pretty fun cover with a style guide look on how to draw Cerebus during this early phase of the character!

That's absolutely right. When you look at the style sheet from "only" 20 issues earlier, the evolution in style AND skill is huge (see Additional Images). I always thought that these "Mind Game" cover expressions were the first time Sim ever got to pure, top-flight, Disney-Mickey-type animation, ca. Fantasia era.
