Description

Myrna Loy (and William Powell) were perfectly cast as Nick and Nora Charles in The Thin Man movies adapted from the Dashiell Hammett mystery novel. In the original story, retired detective Nick and heiress Nora are vacationing in New York City when the daughter of an old client seeks his help finding him. The disappearance escalates into multiple murders and Nora is anxious to see her husband in action. The playful interaction, the sharp dialogue, the colorful characters, and the clever solutions make an irresistible combination. I discovered the movies on local broadcast television channels in the days before home video. This drawing by story artist Shawn Van Briesen turned up on eBay.
