Description

Billy Tucci's creator-owned Shi series began in 1994, telling of an assassin who learns not to kill. He produced this 8"x5.75" image in January 1995, making it the first instance of his signature creation crossing over with other characters. The card set "Madman x50: The Sequel" saw publication in 1996. Shi should really work on her trigger safety, though.

Pencil marks show abandoned ideas from the initial layout, including a "FTNK" sound effect to the right of the gun, as well as a previous design involving a smaller full-body Shi leaping out of the page.

Look at that faint erased pencil like there's a little Shi coming out the side of Madman! Madman and Shi unlocks memories of the Ray Line Jet Disc Tracer Toy Gun that kids subbed in pennies for to cause more damage. Tucci's collab contribution is pretty cool as he lent his character to the set showing how 90's indie artists knew any exposure is good exposure!
