DescriptionA shame that there are only 5 pages of this story. It feels like it could be written now about the future. I'll include these pages below so you can read.Artist: Bryan Talbot Title: G-Man, interior page [3] 1986. Detective Sam Grille and his robot companion Goldrod. Medium: Ink & whitening on board Size: 550mm x 490mm Signed: no Inscription: On the board written in pencil is “G-Man, Chap 1, Page 3, 150%” On the protective tracing paper covering the art is written “ NB. Steve – extra frame. 1st box frame (12) – ‘Spidos Gang were back’ – (actually, Pat may be changing this name – try & check). #12”. Notes: G-Man (UK Market) Interior page art for G-Man an unpublished strip created by Pat Mills with artist Bryan Talbot, 1986. According to Bryan Talbot, G-Man was "one of the strips in a dummy magazine produced by Emap called Heroes, a rival to 2000AD". In November 1988, British Fanzine ARK #26 (ex Arken Sword) printed the first unpublished 5 pages strip in B&W. On Bryan Talbot website, one can find the cover produced for the occasion, dated 1986. Reading this first strip G-Man can be clearly seen as inspired by Pat Mills' Mekomania project as it features Detective Sam Grille and his robot companion Goldrod. Indeed, in David McDonald's Comic archive Beyond 2000 AD, two of the characters are described as follow: "Gold Rod was a story about a robot detective, who was something more than a robot" (quoting Ian Gibson), "Grille: a human hunter robot". http://www.thearchdeviant.org/2014/11/g-man-uk-market.html?m=1 Social/Sharing |

Looks so great with the added layer of white paint for a shine to make even the dystopian environment so appealing to the eye.
