DescriptionA striking Spider Man pose with his face heavily shaded. When I saw this cover for the first time, I thought this was a demonic version of Spider Man with wings sprouting from his back. Ed cleared it up for me that the wings were not Spider Man's but in fact belonged to the spire that Spider was perched upon. Still the image stayed with me and I ended up acquiring the cover from the modern master, Ed McGuinness. 11" x 17".Social/Sharing |

Masterclass!!! The wings suit him. Even though they're the statue's.

So wicked! One could see this as a Joe Quesada inspired Spider-Man image as well with the creepy crawly arm extended and the shadow darkened mysterious face!

Yikes! The first time I looked at this I had the same thought as everyone else--When did Spider-Man sprout demon wings? But I relaxed when I realized the wings belonged to a demon statue behind Spidey. Still, it made for a striking image, didn't it? It's another fantastic cover from Ed McGuinness' stellar run on Spider-Man. His style is perfect for the webcrawler, IMHO. He draws with a very smooth, clean line that's easy to read. And he has an interesting take on Spider-Man, he's always up to something interesting. This cover, with Spider-Man crawling down a steeple right towards the reader, for instance. Anyway, congratulations on picking up this awesome cover.
