This is the kind of big city romance with glitz and glamor presented that inspired daydreams of having that sophisticated life.

The backgrounds are exquisite and the inking is sublime. What else is new?

Gorgeous Mary Perkins on Stage Sunday strip by Leonard Starr. What a beautiful series of panels. The opening scene with Mary and Pete catching a cab after attending a show is beautiful. Then Starr cuts away to Webster walking Alix home and her inviting him to kiss her. The whole strip is wonderfully cinematic, with long shots, medium shots and closeups, as well as scene changes and a striking use of silhouettes. Leonard Starr was a fabulous artist, who really know how to tell a story visually. Stunning pick-up, congrats!

Wow, is this gorgeous! I've gained a renewed appreciation for Leonard Starr's writing lately since I've been going back and devouring all those great Kelly Green graphic novels that Starr wrote and Stan Drake drew. It must've been a pain in the ass for Leonard to have been forced to ditch On Stage and move over to the Annie strip by the syndicate when the musical film based on the latter hit big.

Agreed - this is a great Sunday.  Leonard was incredible!  I never did get into Annie however.  Thanks for the comment!

Agreed, Starr was one of the best!  His inking is probably my favorite thing about On Stage.  The writing is also terriffic though!  Thanks for the comment!
