DescriptionV for Vendetta is one of the main graphic novel of the comics history. Alan Moore utopian plot, combined with noir and evocative David Lloyd style, has been able to create a realistic and fascinating atmosphere. The fascist government V wants to fight is hideous and suffocating. In this page, we have the presentation of Lewis Prothero, "His Master's Voice", echo of a ubiquitous propaganda, "every hour on the hour". We have also Evey, who is trying to understand who is this man, so courageous and determined. The first strip, with V face and his knock that, without sounding, shows all his determination, speaks by itself. The central strip shows the regime arrogance. In the third one, we see Prothero, his dolls'passion and trains, which I personally preferred as transportation method. In particular, the final mute panel is a perfect transition way to move, slowly, to the following page. Finding a V page, with V and Evey, is not easy at all. Thanks to another collector, I have found this precious gem. 30x44cm (I am sorry for the low quality of the picture, but I do not have a big enough scanner) Social/Sharing |

The way Moore and Lloyd combined the plots of 1984 with the Abominable Doctor Phibes in the first arc was a brilliant stroke. It provided a great hook for the reader and the perfect tone and setting for Lloyd's visual style. Also, let it be said that the slimy Lewis Prothero, with all his detached vanity, was the perfect antagonist to get the backstory mystery off and running. Cheers!
