Description

In late July 2024 I attended SDCC (San Diego Comic Con), my dream con, for the first time in my life! This is THE CON I been wanting to go to since my mid-20s and I gave up trying as I never thought I�d be able to get tickets since every year I tried to get into the queue line server on the website, I was never lucky enough to get in and buy tickets. After a few years, I gave up trying to go, since it was that hard to get tickets on the general
public SDCC website.

Fast forward 15 years later in 2024, one month before the con, I was able to finally live the dream of attending the con I�ve always wanted to go to.

The con so happened to be on my 40th birthday. Took 15 years to go my dream con but never too late.

Heard Juanjo came to SDCC 2024, so I had to get a commission from him!

This show Juanjo was presented with an inkpot award at a panel.

I asked Juanjo for a commission of John Blacksad holding little girl Kaylie who he rescued. It is one of my favorite stories that Juanjo illustrated.

It came out great! Thanks Juanjo and thanks ES!

Beautifully done. Arctic Nation is just as important to the narrative of Blacksad as Somewhrre Within the Shadows, and it takes what the first volume built and establishes the hallmarks of the franchise that define every chapter after... most notable Blacksad is undeniably a hero in this story whereas in the first hes much more of a grey character. This illustration captures that exact shift perfectly
