Description

In the back pages of the first few issues of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, readers could find ads offering iron-on transfers of the TMNT that could be purchased straight from Mirage Studios. This original is the basis for one such transfer. This page was done by Peter Laird in 1984 and features all 4 turtles surrounded by Foot Ninjas with a large image of Shredder looming in the background.

It's very difficult to get TMNT art from this early on, so I feel extremely fortunate to add this to my collection. I've also included an image of the colored transfer. The original is a 1:1 scale of the transfer.

Beautiful piece of nostalgia as readers wanted more TMNT after each issue and directed their attention towards the merch ad in those early issues. They got iron ons images and saw the separate figures and this major one with everyone on it. This was probably the most ordered one!
